All our volunteers have experience of surgery themselves and we try to match our volunteer to you, where possible. You can read more about one to one support and request support online. by contacting IA national office or Kettering IA.
Meetings
In addition to our normal meetings in Kettering, we try to organise a summer outing mid July and a Christmas meal. Please check out our latest events.
Disabled Toilets
In the UK many disabled toilets are locked to prevent indescriminate use. Keys can be obtained from Disability Rights UK. You may also be able to get a free radar key through your stoma product supplier.
Midlands IA have produced a plastic card to help deal with situations where your use of a disabled toilet may be questioned, also useful when out and you need the toilet quickly, the card may sway retailers to help you by allowing you to use their staff toilet. Cards can be obtained free from our Chair Danni James (see Contacts page). They are a useful thing to have in your wallet or bag just in case you need some help in explaining your rights.
